PAREDES & ASOCIADOS is comprised of a multi-disciplinary team with the strategic business, legal, and political experience required to tackle the increasingly complex needs of individuals, as well as those of regional, national, and global companies.

PAREDES & ASOCIADOS operates under the direction of managing name partner Dr. Alberto J. Paredes, a member of the firm’s corporate and litigation practice, who specializes in contract, commercial, and international business matters, project development, finance, mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings, with an emphasis on serving clients in the construction, real estate, and financial services sectors. In addition, Dr. Paredes constantly provides innovative perspectives on complex litigation.

Dr. Paredes handled such work on behalf of various parties in interest on matters relating to, among others, the following companies and transactions: a Mexican multinational building materials and cement company in negotiating executing a supply contract for the Panama Canal expansion for the third set of locks, a Mexican toll-road company in the sale of one of the major two Panamanian toll-roads to the government, a Mexican multinational building materials and cement company in negotiating and executing a supply contract for construction of the Panamanian “Metro” (subway) system, the acquisition of an industrial gases company by a Fortune 500 company, the development of an ambitious tourism project on Panama’s Caribbean coast, a multinational Dutch dredging company, a Spanish hotel group, a Costa Rican construction company for the negotiation and execution of a public works contract for the expansion of a major highway and the construction of a viaduct un Central America.

Alberto J. Paredes is a member of the Panama Bar, the New York Bar (USA), the District of Columbia Bar (USA), and the Supreme Court of the United States of America Bar.
